Aristoc located on the first floor of Acacia Mall sells a lot of books and toys.
The Party House on the First Floor of Acacia Mall sell toys and party items.
Woolworths on the ground floor of Acacia Mall sells baby and kids clothes.
Kijani is located a few minutes from Acacia Mall within the Good Glass compound on Bukoto Street. It sells items made in Uganda including reusable diapers, swim diapers, large diapers for children and adults with special needs, skin creams, diaper liners, bags, sleeping bags, clothes and baby blankets.
Dennan Baby to Kids sells baby, kids, and maternity items. It’s located in the Ntinda Complex with another store in MM Plaza on Luwum street.
Dis n Dat is a useful shop for buying babies and kids items, based in Universal house on Luwum street, and Kabalagala, or send a message to their facebook page.
Abaana World sells cotton kids clothes made in Uganda, on sale at Lauma stores at Ntinda Complex and Oasis Mall.
Capital Shoppers sells a wide range of kids clothing and toys on the first floor.
PEP Uganda sells a range of babies and kids clothing. It has shops all over Kampala, so please click on the link to see where the best one for you is.
There is a Zara outlet between Ntinda and Bukoto for kids clothes.
Gami and Mipa at Forest Mall has a range of kids clothes.
Risco Kids at Equatoria shopping mall sell a range of kids clothes.
Pasks is an online facebook store with baby and kids items.
Buying Baby Formula:
There are many brands widely available. Nan is a South African brand and available in most supermarkets. Cow and Gate, Aptamil, SMA are also available in most supermarkets or pharmacies, but expect to pay more here than you would in America or Europe.
Speciality formula such as lactose free, or hungry babies can be found here in some places. Try Friecca in Wandageya, Silverbacks in Lugogo, Dis n Dat or Game.
Buying 2nd Hand
It can be frustrating forking out to much money on new clothes and toys here, normally a lot more than they would cost overseas. Try joining some facebook groups to see what bargains you can buy 2nd hand. Expat moms in Uganda, and baby/kids items for sale Uganda are good ones to join, as well as the more general Kampala Expats 3.0 and Kampala Expats 2.0
If you’re adventurous and like bargaining there are a lot of clothing bargains to be found in the markets here, the biggest Owino is located near Nakivubo Stadium. There’s also a market in Kamwokya on Fridays, if you stick to your guns you shouldn’t pay more than 3k for anything.
Supermarkets
There are smaller supermarkets all over Kampala, when you need something a bit more specific then try the bigger ones.
Capital shoppers in Ntinda, Nakawa and downtown.
Shoprite in Lugogo and Acacia Mall
Game in Lugogo, has some food items as well as a lot of homewares, gardening, electrical items.
Jazz supermarket in Bugalobi
The Italian Supermarket in Muyenga.
Senana Supermarket on Buganda Road in Nakasero
Embassy Supermarket on Ggaba Road
Millenium Supermarket Kisimenti.

Tailoring and Crafts are a tailoring business, owned by physically handicapped women, crafting many beautiful, high quality items, including mummy bags.
